EcoBD Lab takes part in the 15th European Researchers’ Night 2024

News

The research group EcoBD Lab took part in the 15th European Researchers’ Night, held at the Universidad Europea de Madrid, with an activity focused on science outreach and experimentation around biomaterials, bioart and sustainability.

Taking a theoretical–practical approach, the activity invited the public to discover how bio-based materials can become a real, viable alternative to fossil-based materials. Throughout the workshop, participants were able to see, touch and create their own biomaterials, gaining an understanding of their properties, manufacturing processes and possible applications in art, design and architecture.

The activity highlighted bioart and material ecology as key tools for rethinking our relationship with matter and the environment, encouraging a critical and creative approach to current environmental challenges. EcoBD Lab’s participation reinforced its commitment to open science, knowledge transfer and outreach aimed at diverse audiences.
