EcoBD Lab drives new materialities forward at the Sculpture seminar (URJC)
The EcoBD Lab team took part in the seminar "New materialities in sculpture: an approach", held at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Aranjuez), focused on experimenting with emerging bio-based materials applied to art and design.
During the seminar, students worked hands-on with bioplastics, biofoams and bacterial cellulose, exploring their aesthetic, technical and conceptual qualities as sustainable alternatives to traditional materials.
The activity worked as an interdisciplinary creative laboratory, bringing together knowledge from materials science, artistic processes and ecological thinking, and encouraging an experimental and critical approach to contemporary sculpture.
Direction: Miguel Ángel Rego and Cris Segura
Demonstration: Miguel Trigo – Bacterial cellulose
