EcoBD Lab takes part in the 17th European Researchers’ Night 2026

News

For the third year running, EcoBD Lab takes part in the 17th European Researchers’ Night with an outreach and experimental activity dedicated to emerging bio-based materials as a sustainable, regenerative and ethical alternative to current environmental challenges.

The activity brings the public closer to the EcoMat research project, whose materials library brings together a hundred samples of emerging bio-based materials, alongside scientific publications and other research outputs.

The activity combines a presentation of the EcoMat materials library with a hands-on experience based on projects by Design degree students. In a demonstration workshop, participants learn about the ingredients, processes and methodologies used in making biomaterials and create their own sample, guided by the research team.

An opportunity to discover how research into new materials can help us imagine more sustainable and regenerative ways of designing and relating to our environment.
