EcoMat in Harper’s Bazaar España (March 2026)

News

EcoMat takes centre stage in the feature "Materiales del Futuro" in Harper’s Bazaar España, in its special March 2026 issue. The article highlights the work carried out by EcoBD Lab at the Creative Campus of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, where EcoMat researches and develops biomaterials from natural ingredients such as algae, gelatine, plant fibres or fruit skins, with the aim of replacing plastics and polluting materials.

The project has more than 100 samples preserved in a physical and digital materials library, accompanied by bilingual technical data sheets that enable their study, replicability and application in design, fashion, art and architecture.

With a focus on open knowledge transfer and the circular economy, EcoMat shows that material innovation is also a strategic tool for teaching, research and social awareness. A significant achievement that reinforces the connection between research, creativity and environmental commitment.
