EcoMat Methodology (MEB) in Inmaterial. Diseño, Arte y Sociedad (Q2)

New publication: EcoMat Methodology (MEB) in Inmaterial. Diseño, Arte y Sociedad (Q2 – SJR/SCImago). EcoBD Lab shares the publication of the article "Metodología EcoMat: creación artística de materiales emergentes biobasados (MEB)", authored by Esther Pizarro and Miguel Ángel Rego, in Inmaterial. Diseño, Arte y Sociedad (Vol. 10, No. 20, 2025, pp. 56–77).

The article presents EcoMat, a research-creation methodology for the development of emerging bio-based materials (MEB) from an artistic and sustainable perspective. Inspired by Material Tinkering (MT) and Material Driven Design (MDD), it proposes rethinking the relationship between human beings and matter from an ethics of environmental care, integrating artistic thinking, material experimentation and knowledge generation.

As a case study, the article examines the project "Ecología material: biomaterialidades interespecies" (EcoMat), reframing error, contingency and chance as creative drivers.
